Halloween 2009

We carved pumpkins as a family Wednesday night. Olivia enjoyed designing faces to put on hers and daddy's. Mia on the other hand, enjoyed constantly crawling over and getting into everything. The next morning Mia woke up with a fever, and we've been battling them ever since. We went to the Dr. on Thursday and all her tests came back negative. Her fever seems to spike in the middle of the night, but is barely existent during the daytime. Hopefully it stays down tonight. Because of her fever she stayed home with me while daddy took Olivia out trick-or-treating with Gavyn Moore. It was so fun seeing our neighborhood kids and friends all dressed up.
Our only photo of Mia in her costume. It was just too cold and with her just starting to feel better I didn't get more of a chance. Also, she had a diaper blowout, so the costume came off!
Our adorable elephant!
My girls!
I chopped Olivia's hair off today (per her request), which is evident in this photo.

Land Owners!

We closed on our property Saturday, October 24th and now are officially the proud owners on 10 beautifully wooded acres in Alpena. The weather was rainy and a bit chilly, but we managed to enjoy some time playing at the property and getting our camper set up and winterized. The property came with a tiny camper (our guest house) and we purchased another to keep up there. Do I ever feel Redneck. Olivia enjoyed riding her 4 wheeler around. She's getting pretty good at it all by herself. Mia was content as could be. I can't wait for the spring when it warms up and we can use it more as a family! The photos are taken with my new inexpensive camera so they aren't the highest quality, but it's a convenient camera to carry around.
A snapshot leading down a trail.

A picture at the association lot. We have access to the Thunder Bay River and Lake Winyah because our property is located within the Thunder Bay Village Association. A nice perk.

Post Production ... Our Home!

Excitement is seen on Olivia's face as she realized not only did her boots from Nana and Papa have princesses on them, but they also light up. She was thrilled with the many gifts she received and is thankful to all for their overly kind generosity.
Her big gift from us, pretty much daddy's idea. No surprise there.
Aunt Joan and Scott came up for the event, and Joan had to get some quality snuggle time in with Mia.
Abram and Mia hanging out after the party cleared out.

It was a terrific party and day. We truly are grateful for all who came to help make this special day so memorable for our little Olivia! We are blessed with terrific friends and family! Thanks to Kristian too... she took most of these photos for me so I could just be a mom for the day!

Put Your Hands Together For ... OLIVIA!

Saturday, October 17, 2009, was the debut performance of Olivia. Many friends and family members turned up at the Free Church Park in Sturgis for the exhilarating event. Thankfully, the weather held out and it was fairly warm comparative to what it had been. Hot cider was available to those who needed to warm up. Of course Olivia got up on stage with no fear, but was not belting her songs out and dancing like crazy like she had been practicing at home, but she was still so cute.
James and Jadon volunteered to be back up dancers for the song, "I Like to Move it." Jadon had some fancy foot work going on for a bit. Way to go Jadon!
Even mommy and Mia had to get up to take part in a two person song, the SUV song off of Veggietales.
Every performer needs flower at the end of their act, right? You did wonderful Olivia! Mommy and daddy are so proud of you and have loved these last four years with you.

Mia 6 Months

Mia's 6 month birthday has come and gone. This past Tuesday we had her 6 month check up. She weighed in at 15 pounds 15 ounces and was 28 inches long. Her height puts her in the 97th percentile. Who knows where she gets that from? Olivia was a tall baby too, but eventually averaged out. I expect the same with Mia. She's been bear crawling like crazy and wobbly sitting up for quite some time. On her official 6 month birthday she decided to master sitting up and the traditional crawl. She just started getting in to everything that night like she's been doing it for months. Now she can even pull herself up to standing on things, but she eventually topples so we have to keep a watchful eye out. The last 6 months have been wonderful as we know we are truly blessed with our new addition!
Olivia wanted to coordinate with Mia on this particular day.
Our little performer, Olivia has been her usual outgoing self. She is super excited for her upcoming debut performance/birthday party. Saturday, October 17th, we will be debuting Olivia at the Free Church Park in Sturgis. She will sing a dance, although it's the night before and we still haven't officially decide what songs are on the docket. It should be cute no matter what. After we will treat everyone to Jimi Jos right next to the park for ice cream. Then we can head back to our place for cake! Hopefully the weather holds out and it isn't too cold.

A picture of Olivia's tickets for her debut performance. If you have one, save it. It just might be worth some money some day!

Wonderful Friends!

We had a wonderful visit at our good friends Tom and Natalie Roehrig's home last weekend. Tom has some great connections through his work and frequently gets his hands on some Red Wings tickets. He has taken Andy a few times now and this last weekend was no different. They sat right behind the visiting Washington Capitols bench. Andy and Tom both met Ted Lindsay, a Red Wing Legend and were pleased with the outcome of the game.
Noelle and Olivia putting on make-up

While the men were out The ladies stayed home with a house full of kids. We had a fun time. They even had an early birthday cake for Olivia. Manicures and pedicures were on the agenda for Olivia and Noelle. The girls get along so well. Max was right in on the fun with them, but abstained from anything too girly. Mia was trying to teach Violette to crawl. The baby girls were so attracted to each other.
