Welcome Baby Abe!

Abram David Randall was born to Tina and Jer Randall on Thursday, August 7, 2008. He entered this world around 3:00 PM, weighing in at a hefty 9 pounds 13 ounces and 20 inches long. Both mom and baby are doing well. We are all very surprised at his being a boy after Tina has had two daughters, and her brother Geoff and his wife Stephanie just had their fourth daughter a few months back. With six granddaughters already, Nana and Papa Dave were just assuming that is all they would have. Tina and Jer couldn't care either way if they had a boy or girl, they are just pleased he is finally here and healthy. All the little booger wants to do is eat. As soon as he stops nursing he looks for something else to suck on and screams if he is unsuccessful at finding something. He is absolutely precious.

Tina and Abe. Doesn't she look to perky to have just had a baby 3 hours ago. She's the type of woman that makes me sick after giving birth. I don't want anyone to see pictures of me after giving birth. I look like a fat cow with broken blood vessels throughout my pale washed out face.

Dancing Days

Olivia took a four week dance class this summer offered through our ISD, which just ended this past Wednesday. She had so much fun at it each week, especially since her friend Claire Holtz was in it with her. Claire was born two days before Olivia to my good friend Katie (Mercer) and her husband Andy Holtz. Sadly, Claire was unable to attend the last class so I didn't get any cute pictures of the two of them together. Olivia definitely has to be the center of attention though. She constantly had to tell the teacher, "Hey, hey Mrs. Eichorn, look at me!" or "Watch me Mrs. Eichorn!" I could sign her up for regular dance classes, but I think I will wait until she's a little bit older to get her into something like dance on a regular basis.

Stealing the Show!

Sturgis puts on events at the downtown Free Church Park most Friday evenings in the summer called "Fun Fridays." John and Esther asked if we wanted to go down and listen to the German music band play with them tonight. Andy was working late so I decided Olivia and I would walk down and meet them at the park. Well when I walked down stairs I saw my daughter who had missed her nap was sleeping on the floor. I hesitantly woke her up and put her in the stroller, not knowing how ornery she would be. She took a short while to warm up to most people when we got there, but after we went next door to Jimi Jo's for ice cream she was raring to go. She ran out to dance in front of the band. Everyone in the audience was in stitches at how cute she was. I heard people commenting on how she had rhythym and moved slow or fast depending on the pace of the music. I couldn't beleive how precious she looked out there myself. She was eating up all of the attention. Finally, I knew Andy would be home so I called him and made him come over with the camera. I was worried he wouldn't get there before she stopped, but she danced for over one hour straight. She would go out into the audience and ask after each song, "Who's going to dance with me now?" Our neighbors Ray, Lauren, and Piper, came out for a bit too, and Olivia didn't miss them in the audience. She hollered "Hello Lauren!" quite a few times and ran over to see her and Piper between songs, but when the music started again she moved her little piggies as fast as she could back out to dance. She even took a bow after one song. She has never been cuter to me. She finally had to make a break to go potty. Nana tried running her to a nearby restaurant, but they had closed so she let her pee in the bushes. I didn't get any pictures of that one. During the last song she spotted her friend Callahan and pulled him out to dance with her, but sadly the number ended and the band called it a night. She had a great time and I am sure will sleep like a champ!

Waiting with the band between songs. She had to make sure anyone who came by with a donation for the band knew to put it in the briefcase next to her too.

Gettin' down

She recruited a local woman named Lori to go out and dance with her for one song.

An Artist Among Us

The boys came by for fresh blueberry pancakes Wednesday morning. Our friends Callahan and Kelli stopped by to play too. Olivia and I went blueberry picking on Tuesday and she had a blast. I'm going to work her as a migrant worker in the summers from now on. James is getting so big now! Olivia's new favorite past time is painting and she is getting quite good at it if you ask me.
