Spring Sing 2013

Each spring, the kindergarten and first grade classes of Sturgis Public Schools perform their annual Spring Sing.  This year's theme was "The Jewels of the Sea."  The students sang various songs of the ocean, pirates, and sailing.  They also learned that the true jewels of the sea are the animals that are being threatened mainly by humans.  The students adopted a manatee named Ginger.

The last number had the students using some sign language.  It's always a great show and a ton of work to put together.  Glad I'm not in charge.  I actually got to sit as a parent and just watch this year.  Usually I have a student who needs my assistance and I'm on the court with the students, but somehow I managed to not be needed this year.

Gavyn and Mia smiling together after the concert.  Gavyn sang with his kindergarten class.  It's so much fun being able to see so many good friends' children now roam the halls of Congress School.

After the show back at home hanging on the front porch.  Next year my children will not be in the spring sing since it's only kindergarten and first, but don't fret fellow blog followers.  The second graders have a concert all of their own.
